Lauren was on the road Saturday to and from Grant’s game. She called me at one point from the wilds of western New York.
“Lindsay called me,” she said. “They’re going to Carson’s house in Athens but the Corolla can’t detect the key anymore. That’s just the key fob, right?”
“Probably,” I said. “You usually get a low battery indicator before, though.”
“Yeah, she’s had that for a while.”
“And it never occurred to her to take care of it?”
“I told her to drive straight to a Walmart and buy a new battery. Don’t turn the car off.”
“Good grief.”
A few hours later, we had this text exchange with Lindsay.
Lauren: Good job adulting!
With the car key.
Me: Is it adulting if you have to call to be coached on it?
Lauren: Lol. Yes
Jr adulting?
And I sent a YouTube video
Technically Lindsay is not an adult yet [she turns 18 this month], so Carson had the adulting on his shoulders
Me: I guess there’s that
If only Lindsay had Google and YouTube
Lauren: Knowing what to google is where the wisdom lies.
Lindsay: You l suck
