A Day of Surprise

Lauren is still refusing to get me any lunch food, though she managed to get some cheese because no cheese hurts her too. So for today’s lunch, I was reduced to generic chunk chicken breast from a can—mix with mayo, add to quesadilla, and it’s okay. Dobby loves this lunch because he gets the can with leftover chunks, and then I can’t eat the rest of the whole can, so he gets that too. However, I also noticed in the fridge some leftovers from a few nights ago. Lauren had made sloppy joe meat, then put it atop biscuit batter and baked it. Great meal—got two thumbs up from both Graham and me and two paws up from Dobby. Lauren said, “Awesome. I’ll favorite this meal on eMeals,” which is her code for, “You’ll never eat that again.” I have no idea why, but that’s just how it is.

I heated up the leftovers for Dobby and added to it all the chunk chicken I couldn’t eat. I was certain he would eat all of it given his love for both. Instead, it became a distinct taste test with a clear winner and loser.

Really didn’t see that coming. He loves chunk chicken so much he’ll lick the stupid can long after every morsel is gone. But the Goons all responded, “He LOVES red meat!” Hope he enjoyed the sloppy joe biscuits. There will be plenty more chunk chicken but probably never those amazing biscuits again.

If the lunch design didn’t go according to plan, the afternoon took an even more stunning turn. You’ll recall from yesterday’s post that Graham got a Mrs. Cavanaugh’s egg—it had Grant’s name, which had to be scraped off. Getting it was questionable since Graham doesn’t seem to like them. That is, until today.

I got Graham home from track and was at the kitchen sink when I turned to see Graham doing this.

Wtf. He’s actually eating it! He’s not supposed to do that! I’m halfway through mine and was looking forward to starting in on his later this week! What a time to be surprising!
