When Grant was born, we spent three days at Brigham & Women’s hospital so Lauren could recover from her C-section. During that time, Grant became a small legend in the nursery among the nurses. He was so big (10 lbs 1 oz) that they would hold him up when the birthing mothers class would walk through on their tour—the moms-to-be would get wide-eyed and turn pale. One of the nurses said he was like “a little barracuda—he gives us no feeding cues, just goes from dead asleep to screaming for his food.”
Well, Grant has always been Grant and continues to be. He and Katy had Lindsay over recently. Lindsay is the most proficient in the family at making cookies the way Lauren does, and she made cookies for the three of them. Katy loved the cookies but was dismayed at how fast they disappeared around Grant, and she began calling Grant “the dinosaur.” Barracuda, dinosaur . . . both date back to the dawn of time and are quick and ferocious eaters.
Before Christmas, Grant had been telling Katy about Lauren’s cinnamon rolls, so he was disappointed that she was not planning to making them for Christmas morning (we had brunch with friends, instead). When we decided to ring in the New Year in PA, Lauren promised to make dough ahead of time and make cinnamon rolls for New Year’s Day. Of course, she followed through on this, and Grant and Katy made a full breakfast around it of eggs, rolls, and so forth. We left probably half a tray of cinnamon rolls that day as we headed home. Grant had to work at Sheetz at from 10 to 2, and we left for home around 10, as well, leaving Katy home alone . . . with the cinnamon rolls. That evening, we were back home and settled in to watch the NCAA football playoffs when Grant sent a desperate message:
I get home from work just to realize that little dinosaur ate ALL the cinnamon rolls.
And he sent this picture.

Well, you see, Grant, revenge is a moist cinnamon roll covered in rich cream cheese frosting, heated slightly and eaten while your loved one is away.
